Ingredients
  

  • 1 package pasta
  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 cup mushroom diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 6 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 15 ounce can tomatoes and green chilies
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions, drain well, and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and diced mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until tender and translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up, until fully browned and no longer pink.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce and the tomatoes with green chilies.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until evenly combined and heated through.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.
